Sessions

The number of sessions required will vary, depending on the individual, as well as what is being treated. This is due to the considerable variation in the difficulty of the various problems, and unfortunately there is no general rule which makes it possible to say how much improvement can be achieved, and in how much time.

Stopping smoking for instance will normally one or two sessions, lasting approximately two hours in total. Weight loss may require two or three one-hour sessions, while more deep-rooted issues may require five or six sessions.

During the first session, we will spend about 30 minutes or so discussing your presenting issues in order to understand your situation, and assess what help we feel we can offer. This in turn will enable us to work out the best way to progress with treatment. We will also explain more to you about hypnotherapy and how it works, while answering any questions you may have, helping to put you completely at ease about the whole process.

The second part of this first session is spent helping you to experience hypnosis for the first time while doing any work necessary to begin the therapeutic process.

Depending on the depth of trance achieved, some people may find they have little or no recall of this part if the session and this is quite normal, as each person's experience of hypnosis is unique and can in fact vary for the client from one session to the next.

At the end of the session we will give you a fair assessment of how much improvement can be expected, and give an estimate of the number of sessions required.

You will then leave the therapy room feeling very relaxed and looking forward to your next session.
